This wonderful chalet is one of only a handful of free-standing chalets in Zermatt. The chalet enjoys an elevated and sunny position in Zermatt’s Winklematten area, offering breathtaking, uninterrupted views of the Matterhorn and the surrounding mountains. Guests can ski to within 100m of the door and it is conveniently situated next to the free ski bus stop. At only three minutes walk to the Klein Matterhorn ski lift and ten minutes to the centre of the village this is a wonderfully situated apartment.
Built in a typical Alpine style and clad in weathered wood, apartment Stalden combines contemporary with classical Swiss architecture.
This chalet is catered by a qualified chef who is assisted by a host providing breakfast, afternoon tea and servicing of the rooms daily. Dinner is a 4 course gourmet affair served 6/7 nights, starting with canapés and apéritifs and accompanied by selected house wines. There is an open bar provided throughout the week.
The chalet features a stylish living room with wood fire place and Matterhorn view, open plan modern kitchen, dining area, six double bedrooms (two with TV and DVD) and four bathrooms. There is broadband wireless internet access throughout the chalet which also features cable TV, DVD and an integrated surround sound system. The extendable teak dining table can accommodate up to 12 guests.
The chalet comprises of 4 floors, the basement with ski room and wellness area, the ground floor is a self contained unit which gains access to the duplex penthouse by external stairs, the duplex is finished to a very high standard with exceptional views of the Matterhorn.
The ground floor has a spacious kitchen, living and dining area, a bath room with a shower, sink and WC, and two bedrooms. One bedroom has a twin or super king size bed with fantastic mountain views. The second bedroom on this floor also has a twin or super king size bed with Matterhorn views and a balcony.
The first floor also has a living, dining and kitchen area, a bathroom and a bedroom. The bedroom on this floor has twin or super king size bed with a private bathroom with a shower, sink and WC.
The second floor has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom on this floor has twin or super king size bed with an en-suite bathroom with a bath with shower over, double sink and a WC. This room has Matterhorn views.
The other two bedrooms have twin or super king size beds and they share a bathroom which has a shower, sink and WC.
There is broadband wireless internet access throughout the chalet. Personal bathrobes and slippers are provided as are hairdryers.
The lower ground floor of the chalet has a ski room, laundry and wellness area. There is a pine wood sauna, rainfall shower, WC and relaxation area with flat-screen TV and surround sound.

Additional Booking Conditions:
- For this apartment the deposit required is shown in the price calculation. A further 50% is required within 1 week of booking. The full outstanding balance must be paid at least 10 weeks before arrival. Payment can be made either by bank transfer or credit card. If payment of the balance is by credit card a 3.25% processing charge will be applied. Bank transfer details will be emailed to you on receipt of your booking request.
- Cancellations.
In the event of cancellation the following charges will apply:
- For cancellations made more than 84 days before the date of arrival 75% of the booking cost will be refunded, less the initial non-refundable deposit paid at the time of booking.
- For cancellations made between 83 and 63 days before the date of arrival 60% of the booking cost will be refunded, less the initial non-refundable deposit paid at the time of booking.
- For cancellations made between 62 and 28 days before the date of arrival 20% of the booking cost will be refunded, less the initial non-refundable deposit paid at the time of booking.
- For cancellations made 27 days or less before the date of arrival no refund will be made.
- Check-in time is after 1600 and check out is by 10.00am. Where possible the apartment manager will try to accommodate your requirements.
