Le Gros Caillou, Simple Rustic Charm.
This charming traditional chalet is arranged over two storeys and is located in a secluded position above Zermatt, in the district of Oberhäusern. It is in a quiet, sunny spot, 10 metres from the woods edge, 500 metres from the ski-run.
The property faces south-west. Unusually for Zermatt (largely a car free zone) there is steep motor access to within 300 metres from the house, except in winter when access is reduced to 500 metres. There is a then a footpath to the house.
The centre of Zermatt is about 2 km distance. There are restaurants and bars a little closer and the closest ski station, the Sunnegga is 1.2 km away. There are lovely walks directly from the chalet and there is access to the chalet from the Sunnegga ski runs. In winter one can ski to the next bus stop and catch the bus into the village centre.
The ground floor of the chalet has the living/dining room and access to the balcony. There are armchairs, a TV and radio. The open plan kitchen has an oven and hotplates, a fridge and utensils.
There is one bedroom with sloping ceilings and two single beds, and a further bedroom, again with reduced head height with a double bed.
The bathroom has a shower, hand basin and a separate W.C.
On the lower ground floor is the third bedroom with two single beds and shower with W.C. The lower floor has a separate entrance. There is a beautiful view of the Matterhorn.
Additional Booking Conditions:
- For this apartment a security bond of CHF 300 is payable on arrival. This can be paid in cash or by Visa/Mastercard.
- For this apartment the full outstanding balance must be paid 49 days prior to the start date of the reservation. If the booking is received within 49 days of the start date of the booking then the full balance is due immediately.
- The balance can be paid by credit card or by bank transfer. Please note that there will be a surcharge of 2.5% for balance payment by credit card.
- For bookings received within 10 days of your arrival date the full balance is payable at the time of booking by credit card. A credit card authorisation form will need to be completed and returned in order to take the balance payment.
- For this apartment the price does not include the local tourist tax which is payable at check-in. The tax
is currently CHF 2.10 per person, per day.
- Cancellations.
Any cancellation or amendment request must be sent to us to pass on the management company in writing, by email and will take effect on the day they receive this during the hours of 9am to 5.30pm.
- In the event of cancellation your initial deposit is non-refundable.
- Thereafter, if you cancel more than 43 days before arrival date you will be charged a further 10% of the remaining balance.
- If you cancel between 42 and 29 days before arrival you will be charged a further 50% of the remaining balance.
- If you cancel between 28 and 2 days before arrival you will be charged a further 80% of the remaining balance.
- If you cancel 1 day before arrival or on the day of arrival you will be charged 100% of the remaining balance.
- The apartment manager reserves the right to charge a fee of GBP 20 for any amendment made to your booking plus any cancellation or upgrade charges.
