Zermatt Unplugged
To close the end of the winter season, the resort hosts an open air music festival, for locals and tourists staying in Zermatt apartments. It is held on and off the slopes across 9 different venues. Now in its fourth year, Zermatt Unplugged is the only festival of its kind, with its name reflecting the non-electric nature of the performances. Offering a diverse selection of bands and singers, Zermatt Unplugged 2012 is set to welcome back the likes of David Gray and Seal who have performed in previous years.
The Marquee Stage – a 2,000 capacity venue – is the hub of the festival and will be located in the centre of Zermatt. Other venues set to draw in music-lovers with a variety of performances, are Elsie’s Bar, Blue Lounge (on-slope), Cervo and Pink with free entry available. Those planning to attend performances within The Vernissage and Marquee Stage will require tickets for entry.
The music festival kicks off on the 17th April and closes on the 21st April. During this period, accommodation in Zermatt is in high demand, and it is advisable to book your
Zermatt ski apartment well in advance to avoid disappointment.
