Sunnegga
Sunnegga can be reached from Zermatt in just 3 minutes, travelling by the Funicular Railway. Sunnegga is situated at 2,288m and is a great area to explore, in both the summer and the winter season. Visitors can stroll to Leisee Lake, where those travelling with children can take advantage of the playground and campfire facilities. Fantastic views of the Matterhorn can be seen from Leisee Lake, and on a clear day, the lake also presents a lovely reflection of the magnificent mountain, for a picture perfect photo.
There are some great hiking opportunities from Sunnegga to Stelllisee, Grindjisee and Riffelalp. Enjoy a meal at the Buffet Bar Sunnegga and enjoy the sunshine and views from the restaurant's sun terrace.
Skiers who find themselves in Sunnegga can either choose to ski one of the available runs - particularly great for novices - to the town, or can continue up the gondola to Blauherd.
