Golf Club Matterhorn
Golf Club Matterhorn is the nearest golf course to Zermatt at just 7.2 km away. Located at the foot of the beautiful Matterhorn Mountain, this golf course has one of the most spectacular views. Golf Club Matterhorn has a full golf course, driving range, restaurant, and pro shop. Visitors are always welcome to come play a round.
Golf Club Matterhorn wasn’t fully completed until the summer of 2004. A partial golf course was constructed and opened in 1989 by the first golfers in Zermatt. It was the perfect place to begin learning how to golf because it had only six holes. In 1999 the “training course” became nine holes and began to hold tournaments. Continuing to experience growth, the course was seeded for a full 18 holes in 2002 and was completed two years later. At that point Golf Club Matterhorn was able to join the Swiss Golf Association as a full golf course.
Green fees at Golf Club Matterhorn vary by the player’s age and by the desired number of holes. Nine holes of golf will be 60 Swiss Francs for adults and 40 for children. For 18 holes guests pay 95 Swiss Francs for adults and 50 for children. Credit cards are accepted. Call ahead at +41 (0) 27/967.70.00 or visit www.golfclubmatterhorn.ch/en for current pricing and special deals. At times, Golf Club Matterhorn will offer Monday specials for tee times before 11:30am.
Golf lessons are available for beginners at 50 Swiss Francs for 25 minutes or 90 Swiss Francs for 50 minutes. Club rental is also available for 20 or 35 Swiss Francs depending on whether a nine or 18-hole game is played. Further, while trolleys are free, players can also choose to pay 30 Swiss Francs for a golf cart for nine holes or 50 Swiss Francs for 18 holes.
Enjoy an afternoon at Golf Club Matterhorn whilst staying at a Zermatt apartment. The view is incredible and golfers from beginners to experts are sure to have a fantastic time.
