From the first Thursday in March,for 7 days, Sitges puts on one of the wildest and most adventurous parties of the year. Spain is recognized as one of the best places to stay out all night, so it makes sense that a city in Spain hosts one of the biggest carnivals in Europe.

The event brings out nearly 300,000 people to the streets of Sitges, dressed up in wacky garb and ready for a day full of partying. The event begins on Thursday, "fatty Thursday", a day which is filled with over-eating and preparation of local dishes.

During the day, specifically Sunday and Tuesday, the carnival puts on large parades showing off decorated carriages and flashy outfits. Tuesday also marks the final day of the carnival and concludes with various drag shows and people sporting their finest drag attire. Sitges carnival brings out some of the best drag in all of Europe.

The Sitges Carnival is a free annual event that is open to all. Tourist and Locals are welcome alike and come together to participate in a one-in-a-lifetime event that is sure to be wild and end with some exciting, hilarious stories.
