Vystaviste Holesovice
The Vystaviste Holesovice, or Prague’s modern Exhibition Ground, was built in 1891 ahead of the Jubilee Exhibition of that year. Constructed using curvaceous wrought iron details, the Vystaviste Holesovice complex is a testament to the Czech Art Nouveau movement.
The main hall, called the Industrial Palace, features brilliant stained glass and floral ornamentation, a 51-metre high clock tower, and two different wings. In the back of the mail hall is a huge fountain that delights all visitors; especially those who book nearby holiday rentals, Prague’s exhibition centre can provide charming choreography and a light show.
Some may be surprised to learn that the Vystaviste Holesovice has had a rich history. The location was host to the Jubilee Exhibition of 1891, meant to celebrate the Bohemian Empire. Several communist congresses were held at the Vystaviste Holesovice in the late 1940s, and today modern workers from all over the globe go there to attend the international trade shows and industry conventions that occur almost weekly. Prague apartment rentals are perfect for those travelling on business.
Visitors can get to the Vystaviste Holesovice by taking the Nadrazi Holesovice metro red Line C to the Vystaviste stop. The complex is open from 2pm to 9pm, Tuesday through Friday, and 10am to 9pm on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free during the week and free for children under six; adult tickets cost less than £1 on Saturdays and Sundays. Some advice for travellers who intend to book holiday rentals, Prague is often very busy and accommodation needs to be booked in advance. Prague holiday apartment rentals are conveniently located to Vystaviste Holesovice and many other famous landmarks within Prague.
