Streets of Paris Made Easy With Travel App
Wednesday, 22 February 2012
Tourists and business travellers will be able to get around Paris like a local, thanks to a newly updated version of the Paris By Metro app.
Featuring detailed maps for the Metro (subway), RER (train), and tram, users can move around the French capital with ease.
The app, designed by Mallow Technologies, works even without a data connection, such as underground or with roaming turned off. Users can simply tell Paris By Metro where they are and where they want to go, and the app calculates the best travel route.
Whether it's the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre museum, the Sacre Coeur or the Opera, you'll be able to make your way to the city's hotspots hassle-free. Or perhaps you fancy a trip to the Musee D'Orsay, home of the great Impressionist collection; the Place de la Bastille, Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomphe or Place de la Concorde?
The app lists all these top attractions on one place, along with details of the best Metro stops to get there. Need more information? No worries - the app links to the sites' official websites.
Kamalavel Rajendran, Executive Director of Mallow Technologies, said: 'You can leave your heavy guidebook and hard-to-read maps at home. The Paris By Metro app will help you see more of the city and suburbs without getting lost.
'With Paris By Metro, you can get around Paris like a local. You will be able to see more of the city's incredible sights without spending money on taxis or wasting time in traffic.'
And tourists can wave goodbye to having to squint to read confusing guidebooks. Users can see clearly the whole Metro or any one line, and view transfers to the train, tram, or other lines.
And the currency converter will show prices in any of 61 popular currencies, including the British pound and the US dollar.
