Royal Opera House

A Contemporary yet Historic Theatre Hall in Central London

The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden is one of the most high profile and famous venues in London for the performing arts and for experiencing the city’s culture. Home of the Royal Opera and the Royal Ballet, the venue hosts some of London’s best shows and acts, as well as providing tours so you can see all of its stunning architecture and learn about its storied past. We have numerous London apartments within close proximity to ensure you don’t have to travel from afar to witness London entertainment at its best.

The Royal Opera House first opened in 1732 before the building burned down in 1808 and again in 1856. Its current incarnation has been open since 1858. However, the facilities were modernised in the 1990’s with vast sums spent on ensuring the Royal Opera House was one of the most impressive theatre venues in the world. It has allowed the house to blend and mix its rich history with contemporary facilities.

Tours of the theatre take place three times a day from Monday to Saturday, priced at £10.50 for adults, offering the chance to explore the theatre’s history and even catch a glimpse of some rehearsals. Tickets for shows can range from as little as £10 each, though it does depend on which show and your seating arrangements as to how much you pay.

The nearest tube station is Covent Garden and is well within walking distance, ensuring if you’re travelling from one of our numerous London apartments the venue is easy to get to. The Royal Opera House is a great chance to see London’s culture at its finest and a must for any lover of the performing arts.
