Olympic Stadium
Located in Stratford, East London, The Olympic Stadium has been built to host the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Boasting a maximum capacity of 80,000 people and some impressive modern architecture, the stadium has become the iconic symbol for the 2012 games and will host an array of historic events. The venue is in the Southern region of the Olympic Village, with many of our London apartments within walking distance.
Construction for the stadium finished in the summer of 2011, complete with a running track and field for the variety of games that will be played at the Olympics. The venue will also host the World Athletics championships in 2017, whilst its stunning and modern architecture has made it the centre of a bidding war between local football clubs to become its new tenants once the games are over.
The stadium is just one element of the Olympic Village, with the Aquatics Centre, the London Velopark and various sporting centres that will host the variety of games the Olympics provides. The stadium’s closest tube station is Stratford, a station that has numerous tube line links and has both national and international rail links. The Westfield Shopping centre is also a short walk away, and provides a lively indoor shopping experience with three levels of stores and eateries at your disposal.
Our nearby London apartments will put you right in the heart of the Olympic experience, even after the games have finished with certain areas of the area set to be refurnished and made more residential. The stadium is a superb piece of modern architecture and will be the proud home of the 2012 Olympics here in London.
