Victoria Park
Located in East London, Victoria Park is an acclaimed park and seen by some as London’s best park for its tranquil trees, large size and array of sporting facilities. Victoria Park is also a popular concert venue, and is the home of numerous festivals throughout the year, making it a popular hub for local residents as well as visiting tourists. Our London apartments are great for those who are looking to explore London’s culture and history, both of which can be found within the park which is free to visit.
Victoria Park became one of London’s best loved parks during the 19th Century, as it was where East Londoners would flock for a chance to see rare and beautiful gardens and fields of greenery. Public speaking has become a part of the park’s history, as has public demonstrations, earning it a reputation as ‘The People’s Park’. However, the park ultimately offers a serene walkway, with dog-walkers and joggers dotted around the paths.
The park boasts various tennis courts and cricket nets that can be hired out whenever you visit, as well as being a home for a variety of football teams for all ages. There are also a number of monuments and memorials in the park such as the Great War memorial in honour of World War One, as well as a fragment of the old London Bridge, demolished in 1831 and now a proud part of Victoria Park. There is also a children’s playground and a flowers garden with some unique and heavenly flowers, all within walking distance of our London apartments.
Victoria Park’s nearest tube station is Hackney Wick, which will put you in the east section of the park, though there are many rail lines too nearby if you want quicker access to the more picturesque Western section of the park such as the Victoria Park lake and the famous flower garden. Victoria Park is a hugely loved park and if you are booking one of our London apartments it is well worth a visit.
