Olympic Venue: Wimbledon
2012 will see an action-packed summer for Wimbledon, as the chosen venue for the Olympic Tennis, taking place just 3 weeks after the annual Grand Slam tournament. Wimbledon – the only major grass court venue worldwide – hosted the Tennis in the first London Olympics in 1908. The best international male and female Tennis players will descend on Wimbledon, competing in the Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles knockout events across all courts. Those successful in the semi-finals will compete for gold on the centre court. Wimbledon Tennis Club is located in Wimbledon in south-west London.
