With its long-standing military background, no other venue would be more suitable to host the Shooting, Paralympic Shooting and Paralympic Archery events. Purpose-built for the Olympics, the venue will include outdoor ranges for the shotgun events, and for Rifle and Pistol Shooting - four indoor ranges will be constructed. Grandstands providing seating for a total of 7,500 spectators will accompany the temporary buildings. The Olympic Shooting events involve men and women competing together, whereas the Paralympic Shooting and Archery will have separate events for each. The Royal Artillery Barracks are located in south-east London, close to Woolwich common.
