Olympic Venue: Earls Court
Usually home to a variety of exhibitions and conferences, Earls Court will open its doors during the London Olympics to thousands of spectators looking to watch the Volleyball competitions. With over 40,000 square metres of space, it’s not surprising the event will have a spectator capacity of 15,000. Earls Court has previous experience as a sporting venue, hosting the Wrestling, Boxing, Weightlifting and Gymnastics events of the 1948 London Olympics. The venue will include an athlete’s warm-up area and Volleyball field, along with spectator facilities for refreshments and merchandise. Earls Court will host the Volleyball Preliminaries, Semi-finals and Finals and is located in West London.
