Borough Market has origins dating back to the 11th Century and was traditionally a fruit & vegetable market, though its prominence and array of cuisine has exploded over the past ten years, so much so it was named London Food Market of the Year for 2010. The market has up to 70 stalls containing a whole host of food, whether it is fish, cheese, fruit and vegetables, breads, cakes and even ciders from countries such as France, Mexico, Poland and Portugal. The market is open Thursdays 11am-5pm, Fridays 12-6pm and Saturdays 9am-5pm, with the London Bridge tube station a short walk away.
