Saatchi Gallery
The Saatchi Gallery of
Chelsea, London has a strong reputation for displaying contemporary and emerging artists that are relatively unknown. The gallery is also known for some outlandish and controversial paintings, with past examples delivering powerful political and social messages through the exhibition. Covering over 70,000 square feet with the work of unique and exciting artists, the gallery has a strong influence on London culture and on budding new artists, and what’s more is completely free to visit when staying in one of our
London apartments.
The gallery opened in 2008 in its current location, though there have been galleries carrying the same name previously, dating back to 1985. Some of the controversies surrounding its paintings have included ones containing such figures as Princess Diana, which has caused offence to certain people. However, relatively unknown and modern artists such as Edwin Ushiro and Mathieu Bernard-Martin are what the gallery is predominantly about, giving the exhibition a fresh and different feel to what you get elsewhere.
The Saatchi Gallery is well within walking distance of Sloane Square tube station, as well as
Hyde Park if you’re planning your activities on a day-out when staying in our
London apartments. The gallery is a unique way of exploring some new art, as well as being in an exciting and accessible region of London.
