Paddington
Paddington is part of the city of Westminster within London and is generally known for the Paddington Bear, which was a fictional character in various English Children's books. There is now a statue of the bear within Paddington Station.
The area includes several important means of transportation including the historically significant Paddington train station, which was a terminus built for the Great Western Railway, which was the world's first underground railway to be built. A couple other noteworthy landmarks are the St. Mary's Hospital, as well as the Paddington Green police station, which is the place where possible terrorists are taken to be questioned.
Paddington is perfectly located in a residential area minutes from shopping on Oxford Street . The area is continuing to develop as it becomes more densely populated. A fun thing to do in Paddington is try your hands at a pub. There are numerous pubs around the area and are a great way to meet local Londoners having a pint after work. Since the area is mostly residential, it is not the most well-known for its night life, but still provides a comfortable and quieter London experience.
