Marylebone
A trip to London wouldn’t be complete without visiting the cutting edge area of Marylebone. Some of London’s most entertaining and famous landmarks reside in Marylebone, which make it a hotspot for tourists as well as Londoners. It is one of the most happening regions of London because of its diverse range of tourist attractions that will please any type of traveller staying in one of our London apartments.
Marylebone was named after the local church St. Mary by the Bourne, before then growing into a lively area of London due to its close proximity to the popular Regent’s Park and Oxford Street. Despite coming under attack during World War Two, the damage did not affect Marylebone, as it retained its sterling reputation and remained the pinnacle of London’s attractions.
Although Oxford Street is a short tube journey away, there is an array of superb attractions well within walking distance from our London apartments in Marylebone. You can visit the world famous Madame Tussaud’s and see some lifelike wax works, or you can spend an afternoon in the iconic Hyde Park and Regent’s Park, with the latter incorporating London Zoo. If you adore architecture, the Marble Arch offers some stunning marble work, whilst you can visit the Sherlock Holmes museum at 221B Baker Street which he himself made so famous. With an array of great restaurants, shops and bars, there truly is something for everyone in Marylebone.
As you’d expect with so many tourist hotspots, transport links are second to none, meaning you don’t have to worry about getting around if something outside of Marylebone tempts you in London. However, with a seemingly endless list of diverse attractions and things to do in Marylebone, you won’t have to venture too far from our London apartments to experience London at its fullest.
