Holborn
Right in the heart of Central London, Holborn is an area known for its historical buildings and for being a fast paced, modern hub of Greater London. Although the area is not a tourist hotspot, there are still numerous things to do in Holborn and is well worth a visit when staying in one of our London apartments, especially given the area doesn’t exploit tourists and charge high prices. Holborn is usually associated with being strictly business; but this district can also give you a great day out providing you know where to go.
The area we now know as Holborn was able to blossom when a tollbooth was introduced, allowing a village to grow around it. Since then London’s growth has helped Holborn into predominantly a working environment thanks to such buildings as the Royal Courts of Justice, with its corridors stretching to over three miles long, and is made public to visitors who wish to see its iconic architecture.
Although Holborn doesn’t have an array of attractions, those that are here don’t suffer from the over crowdedness that other parts of London can do. The British Museum is perhaps the most famous landmark, with admission being free, whilst the Shaftesbury Theatre has always been a hit with visitors, mainly due to hosting such plays as ‘West Side Story’. Our London apartments are also within reach of a number of restaurants and bars in Holborn to unwind after seeing its attractions, which keep in tone with the competitively priced nature of the region.
As you would expect in the centre of London, there are numerous tube lines and stations to help you get around quickly and efficiently. Although you may want a London apartment in an area more popular with tourists, Holborn’s accessibility and affordable prices would make a great focus point as you enjoy what London has to offer.
