Chelsea

The Famously Beautiful and Upmarket District of West London

One of the most desirable regions of London, Chelsea is known for being a modern, innovative area. With an array of high end shopping stores and exclusive boutiques, plus a whole host of bars and restaurants, there is certainly a lot to do and buy when staying in one of our London holiday apartments. Chelsea is also known for its arts, and is the home to many museums and theatres, some of which are amongst the biggest in the UK.

Chelsea has always led the way in London, particularly when it comes to the arts. In the early 19th Century, it was inhabited by a Victorian artists’ colony, before later being the cornerstone for ‘Swinging London’ during the 1960s, showing how the area has always been at the forefront for culture within London. Because of this, many famous musicians have lived in the area including Bob Marley and Kylie Minogue.

Besides the shopping centres Chelsea can boast, it is also the home of Chelsea FC, one of the most successful football teams in England in recent years. The Natural History Museum and Saatchi Gallery are also within walking distance from our London holiday apartments in Chelsea, whilst if you are visiting during the early part of the summer you can catch the famous Chelsea Flower Show. There’s also a great social scene, with many bars, pubs, restaurants and clubs available for your pleasure.

Being close to the centre of London, Chelsea has great transport links making it easy to get around. However, most of what Chelsea has to offer is well within walking distance, meaning you don’t have to stray far from our London holiday apartments, so if you’re looking for a trip to a place that is always cutting edge, Chelsea could well be the destination for you.
