Barbican
Barbican is an area that is widely known for its architecture, commerce, and dominate role in the performing arts field. Barbican holds The Barbican, the largest venue for varied forms of art, music, film, and dance and is also home to the London Symphony Orchestra.
The area also includes a centre, which is a large mecca for a range of arts, in addition to having a public library, and a conservatory. The city of London owns Barbican and has been developing the area since 1982.
In World War II, the area was heavily bombed and completely devastated. Rebuilding began in 1965 and towers were built to house inhabitants interested in living in the city.
The area is also close to the Museum of London, which captures the history of London in a fun and interactive way. The museum also looks at London's future and what it may become, which is eye-opening. The Museum is free and open everyday of the week.
Barbican is the perfect place for a performing arts lover to stay, as they have to walk no further than five minutes to visit the Symphony or to explore the Museum of London. It is a cultural and artistic dominate area that is sure to provide an enjoyable London experience.
