Wine Tasting at Buda Castle
Beneath the grand structure of Buda Castle, lies a labyrinth of underground corridors and storage rooms, originally carved as a means of escape from the castle during the middle ages. The 1,400 square metres of underground space is now used as a wine cellar, which visitors can explore on one of the castle’s wine tasting tours. English-speaking wine connoisseurs will introduce visitors to Hungarian fine wines and champagne from 6 wine regions and 22 wine districts.
Wine tasting tours are perfect for a romantic excursion, or simply to appreciate the history of the tunnels and experience some of Hungary’s best wines. In addition to the array of wines available to sample, visitors can also try Hungary’s traditional fruit brandies, known as pálinka. Located in the heart of the city, many of our Budapest apartments are only a stones-throw away.
