Angel #1, A pretty escape, right in the heart of the Barri Gotic

This cosy 1st floor apartment really is a haven of tranquility. Once inside the apartment you won't believe you are slap bang in the heart of Barcelona's wonderful Barri Gotic. The apartment is reached through a private, gated entrance, down a pretty patioed passageway located in a street running between the world famous La Rambla and the pedestrian shopping street Portal De L'Angel. Once inside this bright apartment you will find peace and tranquility as well as everything you might need for a self catering stay in this buzzing city. Step outside and you are surrounded by historic medieval streets packed with boutiques, cafes, restaurants and tapas bars. Less than two minute's walk and you are on the bustling La Rambla, and three minutes away is the city hub - Placa de Catalunya. A perfect location.

The apartment has a light, living room with a high quality sofa , TV, DVD, Hi Fi and a breakfast bar dining area for four. The open plan kitchen is well equipped with pots and pans, crockery and cutlery as well as a full oven, four ring hob, microwave, toaster, kettle and cafetiere.

The main bedroom overlooks the patioed passage and has a large double bed and plenty of wardrobe space. The second bedroom has a single bed which, combined with the double sofa bed in the lounge, provides further sleeping arrangements for three.

The bathroom is clean and bright with a small bath and overhead shower and a hairdryer is provided.

The apartment is air-conditioned by a unit located in the living area.

The apartment has ADSL wireless internet connection.

Additional Booking Conditions:
  • Arrivals after 10pm will be charged a late check in fee of 30 EUR.
  • From November 1st 2012 a local tourist tax will be introduced for Barcelona. For this apartment the price does not include the local tourist tax which is payable at check-in. The tax is currently set at EUR 0.75 per person, per night. (unders 16's are not charged).
  • Guests will be required to produce a valid credit card on arrival. The card will be used to pre-authorise a security deposit of 200 euros. This will be released on departure if the apartment has been left in a presentable condition, unless there have been any damages or complaints from neighbours, the police or other guests regarding anti-social behaviour.
  • Groups of 6 guests or more will be asked to provide a security deposit of 400 euros payable by credit card.
  • Hen and Stag parties are not permitted in this apartment.
  • For this apartment the balance may be paid by cash or credit card. If paying the balance by credit card a processing charge of 2% will be applied.
  • Cancellations: If the cancellation is within 28 days of the start date of the booking a further cancellation fee will be charged to the credit card, thus making the total paid 50% of the original booking total.
  • Where there is only a partial cancellation, (that is, fewer days) the 50% charge will be calculated on the difference between the original booking price and the revised booking price, and added to the revised price.
  • No Show. If you cancel 72 hours (3 days) or less before your due date of arrival, or do not arrive at all, you will be charged the remaining amount for the booking, resulting in the FULL AMOUNT for the booking being paid.

The apartment was spotless and comfortable and the only problem that we did have in that the DVD didn't work, was sorted out immediately following a call to Liai, who replaced it straight away. I noticed some guests had written a complaint about it in the guest book (and other little gripes i.e no bath plugs or tea towels) but I wonder if they actually picked up the phone and asked her to rectify it. Next time we stay, and I have no intention of staying in any accommodation but yours, I would probably make sure that I packed little things like a plug, tea towel etc, the same as I would on any self catering holiday to be honest. Unfortunately our weather was not good (thunderstorms and torrential rain so we didn't get out in the evening as much as we would have (so thank heavens for the DVD!) so unable to recommend anywhere to eat. Used the metro this time around which we previously thought might be intimidating for a couple of women on their own but actually found it less intimidating than Newcastle. All in all I can't wait to book with you again and thank you for the follow up email, never had Thomson holidays ask me for feedback in all the years we took the kids on beach holidays in the past! Thanks again I will be recommending you to anybody and everybody who I encourage to visit Barcelona. "
