RAI Conference Centre

The Country's Premier Conference Centre

The Amsterdam RAI Conference Centre is one of the main conference and exhibition centres in the Netherlands. Many major international trade fairs, seminars, exhibitions and congresses are held in the RAI. It is always worth keeping an eye on the RAI schedule when staying in our holiday apartments. Amsterdam hosts many great events and a number of them take place in the conference centre.

The Amsterdam RAI was opened on February 2 1961 by Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands. In its relatively short history, over 75 million visitors have made their way to the centre. One of the RAI’s historical highlights, as far as pop culture is concerned, was hosting the 1970 Eurovision Song Contest.

Each year approximately 50 international conferences and 70 trade shows take place at the RAI, making it a venue to watch when staying in our apartments. Amsterdam has a number of events which are held annually at the RAI. These include the Art Amsterdam art exhibition, Jumping Amsterdam (a spectacular equestrian event), the AutoRAI car show and HISWA, a water sports and boating trade show.

With 22 conference rooms, 11 halls (the largest of which can seat almost 13,000 people) and a music and concert theatre, the RAI is certainly not short on space. Many great musical events can be seen at the RAI when staying in our holiday apartments. Amsterdam attracts some major artists and the RAI is one of the city’s top venues. You can check the schedule at www.rai.nl.

The RAI centre is located in the Zuidas business district of Amsterdam, 15 minutes from the city centre by public transport. The train from Amsterdam airport takes about ten minutes to reach the RAI station. To reach the centre from our apartments, Amsterdam Central Station provides all the main connections. Take tram 4 or the Amstelveen express tram (51) or hop on a bus (route 15, 69 or 169) and get off at RAI Europaplein.

Visiting the RAI by car is another option: follow Amsterdam’s A10 orbital motorway and take exit S109 (the RAI is well signposted). With space for approximately 4600 cars (and more room nearby), parking should not be a problem.

Opening times are very much dependent on individual events; it’s a good idea to check the schedule before setting off from any of our apartments. Amsterdam attracts a wealth of different shows, concerts and exhibitions; there is always something special happening at the RAI.
