Heineken Experience
Heineken International, one of the largest beer brewers in the world, has created the Heineken Experience for excited beer fans.
The Heineken Experience is located in Heineken’s original brewery in central Amsterdam. In 1988, the need for increased space drove Heineken to move the main brewing station to the outskirts of Amsterdam. A tour of the original brewery first opened in 1991. Heineken’s first tour experienced great success as it quickly became one of the top attractions in Amsterdam. In 2001 the tour was revamped and became the Heineken Experience.
The aim was to create not just a beer museum, but also an experience where visitors are literally able to “see it, hear it, smell it, taste it, and enjoy it,” says Heineken International. The Heineken Experience takes about an hour and a half. It is self-guided, but the Heineken staff members are available to help answer any questions. Four floors of interactive Heineken experiences await anxious visitors. Activities include touring the old brew room and creating your own bottle of Heineken.
The Heineken Experience is open every day from 11am-7pm with the last admittance at 5:30pm. The Heineken Experience costs €16 for adults or €15 if booked in advance, from the link below. Children under age eight are admitted at no cost. Guests that book ahead online save €1 and are not required to wait in the queue upon arrival. Group rates are available upon request. Further information is available on heinekenexperience.com.
